 Transportation & Free Lodging


  • ACS Road to Recovery: Free rides via Lyft or volunteer drivers. Call 1-800-227-2345.
  • Mercy Medical Angels: Provides gas cards, Uber/Lyft vouchers, and commercial airline tickets.
  • ChemoCars: A non-profit that books and pays for Uber/Lyft rides specifically for treatment.
  • ACS Hope Lodge: 100% free lodging for patients and caregivers (Locations in LA and SF).
  • Joe’s House: A nationwide search engine for discounted (and sometimes free) medical lodging.
  • AirCare Alliance: A directory of volunteer pilots providing free medical flights.


 Housing, Utilities & Daily Living


  • Family Reach: Emergency grants for rent, mortgage, and groceries.
  • The Pink Fund: Covers non-medical bills (utilities, car payments) for breast cancer patients.
  • Cancer Angels (Stage IV): Provides rent and food assistance for Stage IV patients in California.
  • Cleaning for a Reason: Free home cleaning services for people in active treatment.
  • LIHEAP (Energy Assistance): California state help with heating and cooling.


 Medication & Co-Pay Relief


  • Patient Advocate Foundation (PAF): Direct grants for co-pays and insurance premiums.
  • PAN Foundation: Financial help for out-of-pocket prescription costs.
  • HealthWell Foundation: Assistance with premiums and deductibles.
  • CancerCare Co-Pay Foundation: Financial assistance for co-payments and transportation.
  • NeedyMeds: A database for finding free or low-cost medicine directly from manufacturers.


 Leukemia & Lymphoma (Blood Cancer) Specific Aid


  • LLS Co-Pay Assistance: Helps with insurance premiums and treatment co-pays. (Up to $4,000 depending on the specific fund).
  • LLS Urgent Need Program: Provides a $500 grant for non-medical expenses (rent, utilities, food, etc.) for those in acute financial crisis.
  • Susan Lang Travel Assistance: A $500 grant specifically for ground transportation, gas, tolls, and lodging.
  • LLS Patient Aid Program: A one-time $100 stipend for general non-medical expenses.
  • LLS Intake Specialist: Call 1-877-557-2672 (M-F, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM ET) to have a human walk you through which funds are currently "Open" for your specific diagnosis.


  ⚖️ California-Specific Safety Nets


  • BCCTP (Medi-Cal): Full insurance coverage for breast/cervical cancer. Call 1-800-824-0088.
  • CA State Disability (SDI): Provides wage replacement if you cannot work.
  • CA Paid Family Leave (PFL): Income for family members caring for you.
  • Triage Cancer: Free legal and financial resources tailored to California law.


Important Tip:

Many of these programs (like Family Reach or The Pink Fund) require a "Professional Referral." This means you should bring this list to your Hospital Social Worker or Nurse Navigator. They can fill out the provider portion of the application to get your funds approved faster.
